Discipleship Training School
'Whakawatea' - a local indigenous word that means to clear out the way. That's what we want to encourage you to do in this school, to leave everything that holds you distant from the Lord behind, and walk towards your true identity and calling in God.
We also want to invite you to participate in growing to be a light pulsing God's goodness in our community in Mangere, and to point to Jesus in everything we do during the 3 months of DTS, if you desire to be inspired and to grow spiritually shining Jesus light, Whakawatea is the school for you.
Lecture
Phase
Starting on February 13th, every week in the Lecture Phase will highlight areas related to following Jesus in life and character, personal relationship with God and missions. In addition to lectures, you will also have worship, prayer/intercession and outreach preparation times to challenge and help you to develop your heart towards God. You will experience different ways of connecting with God.
Topics include:
Hearing God's voice, Nature and Character of God, Father heart of God, Lordship of Christ, Worship and Prayer,
Identity and Calling and many more!
Outreach
Phase
Outreach is 8 to 12 weeks of practice everything you learned and serve others. It is filled with opportunities to engage with God in real issues wherever you go. Outreach teams will be doing anything and everything they can to express the love of God.
Faith, Obedience and Trust are essential for this phase, as you are lead by the Holy Spirit, working in teams and faced with new and exciting challenges.
